Xinduqiao: a photographer's heaven

ChinaTibetOnline zoom in +

Xinduqiao is the name of a town, but it is not a scenic area. Xinduqiao is about 3,300 meters above sea level, and is located on the South of. 318 National Road. At the fork in the northern route of Sichuan-Tibet Highway, it is a traveler highlight known as "the photographer's corridor". From here, one can look out at the Gonggar Mountains, and the view from the roadside is beautiful either.

Best time to visit: June to November. From June until November you can travel to Xinduqiao to see the most beautiful sites, including fields of flowers as far as the eye can see and the golden poplar forests of autumn.

From November onward, it starts to snow, and the temperature drops rapidly, and travel to Zheduo Mountain will be disrupted by the conditions. From then until the snow melts around March. Once that happens, travel on the road resumes and one can reach Xinduqiao.
